The Singapore Grand Prix is one of very few Formula 1 races held at night. That single fact reorganises the entire weekend. The hours between checkout and your evening plans are longer than at most venues, and the hours after the on-track programme are later. If you are attending for the first time, or returning after a gap, it is worth thinking through what each day actually requires before you arrive.

In 2026 the Singapore weekend runs as a sprint format, which cuts the on-track programme from three days to two active race days. That changes the rhythm compared to a standard weekend. There is no slow practice Friday in the usual sense, and Saturday carries a race of its own before qualifying runs in the evening.

The practical consequence of this schedule is that your day does not begin early and it does not end before midnight. Sessions starting at 16:30 or later mean mornings are free. Evenings run past 22:00 on every active day. If you hold circuit tickets for Saturday, you will be watching the sprint race from 17:00, then qualifying from 21:00, and the circuit closes just before the Amber Lounge doors open on the other side of Marina Bay. If you hold Sunday race tickets, the Grand Prix finishes around 22:00 before the after-dark programme begins.

What the Night Format Means for Each Day

A night race compresses the pressure onto the late afternoon and evening. The morning is genuinely available. Arrivals, hotel check-in, meetings, or a meal happen before the circuit opens rather than being squeezed around it. That is a different rhythm from a daytime race, where early starts determine the whole shape of the day.

On Saturday, the sprint race at 17:00 and qualifying at 21:00 sit five hours apart. There is a gap between the two that most venues do not have between on-track sessions. In practice, many guests use that gap for dinner before returning for qualifying in the evening. The Marina Bay waterfront has options in every direction from the circuit boundary.

On Sunday, the race runs from 20:00. The day before the race is effectively free for anyone without a circuit ticket. For those who do hold Sunday tickets and plan to attend Amber Lounge as well, the timing requires some thought: qualifying runs until 22:00 on Saturday, Amber Lounge opens at 21:00, and both happen on the same night. Some guests attend qualifying and then move to Clifford Pier; others use Saturday as the Amber Lounge night and Sunday as the race night. There is no right answer, but it is worth deciding before you arrive rather than after qualifying ends.

The Amber Lounge Evening on Saturday and Sunday

Amber Lounge Singapore 2026 runs on Saturday 10 October and Sunday 11 October at Clifford Pier, inside the Fullerton Bay Hotel at 80 Collyer Quay. Doors open at 9PM both nights. The venue is a short walk from the circuit perimeter and sits directly on the waterfront at Marina Bay.

The entertainment on Saturday 10 October is apl.de.ap and J. Rey Soul of the Black Eyed Peas. Eve performs on Sunday 11 October. Siangyoo is also on the bill. Set times and running order have not been announced; the programme runs from doors at 9PM.

On Saturday, Amber Lounge opens at the same time qualifying begins at the circuit. Guests who prioritise qualifying will arrive later; those who prioritise an earlier position inside the venue will come straight from the sprint race. On Sunday, the race finishes around 22:00 and Amber Lounge has been open since 21:00. Guests coming from the circuit arrive into a room that is already running.

The Amber Lounge evening is a separate booking from the circuit. No race ticket is required. Packages range from a single Club Pass to shared and private tables, with the Amber Suite at the top of the Singapore range. The Amber Penthouse, a separate daytime hospitality at The Fullerton Lighthouse, runs across Saturday and Sunday from 4PM and is also booked independently.
