Monaco Yacht Packages for Race Week: What They Include and How to Book

Monaco, 19 August 2026

Monaco race week yacht packages place guests on the water inside or near Port Hercule during the season's most compressed circuit. Most include a berth or anchored position, catering and open bar on board, and viewing from the deck across qualifying and race day. Premium tiers add a tender service, a dedicated crew, and shore-side access through connected evening programmes. The 2026 Monaco race has already passed; buyers planning ahead are looking at the 2027 edition. This guide covers how the yacht market works and what to confirm before committing.

One note on the season: Monaco is the only stop on the calendar held entirely through a city and its harbour. Port Hercule is the circuit itself. A boat inside the port is the venue, not just transport.

Monaco Yacht Packages for Race Week: How the Tiers Work

The market divides into three practical categories. The first is a day-charter on a smaller vessel, moored in a secondary anchorage outside the port. These are the most accessible by price and the furthest from the action. Views of the harbour section are good; the tunnel exit and Casino Square are not visible from the water.

The second category is a berth inside Port Hercule on a larger motor yacht or sailing vessel. The quayside positions closest to the swimming pool section of the circuit are the ones most photographed. Places are awarded by the ports authority, which gives priority to applicants connected to the race and its sponsors, with a small number of brokers holding long-standing relationships in the port. Price reflects that scarcity and they sell out well in advance of any public announcement.

The third category combines the boat with guaranteed event access on shore. This is where the after-dark programme connects to the daytime hospitality. Guests move from the deck at dusk to a private venue in the principality for the evening. The two halves of the day require separate tickets or invitations; a yacht package does not automatically include shore-side access, and vice versa.

Port Hercule: What the Anchorage Positions Mean

The port faces south. Yachts on the western quay sit roughly opposite the pit straight and the start-finish line. Vessels on the eastern side, near La Condamine, look across to the superyachts and have a longer sightline down the harbourfront. Mooring buoys in the centre of the port trade close quayside access for a broader panorama of the whole harbour section of the circuit.

None of the in-port positions show the majority of the lap. The circuit runs through Casino Square, down the hill to Mirabeau, through the hairpin and back underground through the tunnel before emerging into the harbour. From the water you see the tunnel exit, the chicane, and the swimming pool section: four or five corners of the lap. The rest is audio. The shift through the tunnel echo is one of the louder sounds in the sport.

Guests who want to watch the full lap usually combine a circuit grandstand ticket for at least one session with their yacht programme. The grandstand above the swimming pool and the Rascasse section cover corners that the water never shows.

Booking Timelines and What Brokers Don't Say

The primary market for Port Hercule berths moves in the autumn before race year. Named positions in the port are committed well before race year. The secondary market runs through the following spring but prices reflect scarcity. Packages that appear online in March for a May race are either secondary-market resales or anchorages outside the port.

What brokers rarely lead with: the weather variable. Monaco in early June can be warm and flat-calm or cold enough to need a jacket by early evening. Covered deck space matters more than it sounds in most hospitality brochures. Ask specifically before you book.

The on-shore access problem also gets underplayed. Monaco is small and effectively closed to through traffic on race days. If your evening plans are on shore, confirm that the package includes tender transfers to a landing point inside the security perimeter. Without that, you are leaving the port on foot or by prior arrangement.

For guests combining a yacht programme with an after-dark event, Amber Lounge has run its Monaco edition continuously since 2003 and works within the accreditation system that governs access during race week. Details on the 2027 Monaco programme are on the Monaco page. Guests also in Singapore in October can review the Penthouse, which covers the Singapore nights in October.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do Monaco race week yacht packages typically include?

Most packages include a berth or anchored position in or near Port Hercule during race week, catering and open bar on board, and viewing from the deck across qualifying and race day. Premium tiers add a dedicated hospitality team, tender transfers, and connected event access on shore. The 2026 Monaco race has passed; buyers planning now are looking at 2027.

Where do yachts anchor during the Monaco race week?

Berths on the western and eastern quays inside Port Hercule are the premium positions and are allocated months in advance. Mooring buoys in the centre of the port offer a broader harbour view. Anchorages in the bay outside the port are more accessible in price and further from the circuit.

Is there a Monaco race week after party that connects to the yacht programme?

Yes. Amber Lounge has held its after-dark programme in Monaco since 2003, drawing drivers, paddock guests, and invited guests from the port. It runs on the Saturday and Sunday nights of race week. A yacht package does not include access automatically; the two programmes are booked separately. Details for the 2027 Monaco edition will be posted when the race date is confirmed.
