Singapore or Monaco: Which Night is Yours

The venue is enclosed within the racing infrastructure, which means access is physically conditional on the race schedule. There is no walking distance from a central hotel. You come from dinner in the Principality, and the room receives you from there.

The Monaco crowd skews European and Middle Eastern. The energy is dense. The room is not large. The fashion show runs at midnight. By one, the density of the room makes movement deliberate. This is not a complaint. It is the character of Monaco. The Principality is small, the week is compressed, and everyone knows it.

Singapore is the flagship edition. October, at the Fullerton Bay Hotel on the waterfront of Clifford Pier. The room is larger. The ceiling is higher. The sound system has more room to breathe. The guest list draws from Southeast Asia, Australia, the UK, and the US in roughly equal measure. The atmosphere is warmer in the literal sense. You are on the equator.

Singapore also carries more programme. Three nights of programming. The venue opens onto the water. The city surrounds the circuit in a way that Monaco does not permit, which means the race week social calendar is broader. Amber Lounge is the anchor, but the context is a week rather than a night.

If you have one choice, Singapore offers more. If you want the original, there is only Monaco. Most guests who attend both eventually choose a favourite and stay loyal to it. The house is at the same standard in both cities. The rooms are not interchangeable.
