Formula 1 has confirmed that the iconic Monaco Grand Prix will remain on the calendar until at least 2031, following the signing of a new six-year deal with the Automobile Club de Monaco.
As part of the agreement, the race will shift from its traditional late-May slot to the first full weekend in June from 2026 onwards.
The change is designed to streamline the sport’s global logistics and help F1 move toward its sustainability goals, including its target of reaching Net Zero carbon emissions by 2030. It also eliminates the long-standing clash with the Indianapolis 500, one of the sport’s other major annual events.
A New Chapter for F1’s Most Famous Race
The Monaco Grand Prix has been a staple of the Formula 1 calendar since 1955 and is considered one of the most prestigious races in motorsport. Known for its tight corners, unforgiving barriers, and glamorous backdrop, the event attracts a global audience and a star-studded guest list each year.
The latest agreement between F1 and the Monaco organisers ensures the continuation of that legacy. According to F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali, “We are delighted to extend our partnership with the Automobile Club de Monaco. The Monaco Grand Prix is a unique and iconic event that every driver dreams of winning.”
What the Date Shift Means
Starting in 2026, the Grand Prix will no longer take place at the end of May. Instead, it will move to the first full weekend in June, allowing for better flow between F1 races in Europe and North America. The date change is expected to benefit teams, fans, broadcasters, and hospitality providers by reducing scheduling pressure and enabling better event planning.
A Boost for Hospitality
For high-end hospitality providers like Amber Lounge, the shift opens new opportunities. The new June slot avoids competition with other major events and aligns with the early summer social season in Europe. Warmer weather, longer daylight hours, and an extended international audience make it an ideal time for exclusive yacht parties, VIP afterparties, and luxury hospitality experiences in Monte Carlo.
Looking Ahead
With the future of the Monaco Grand Prix now secured for another six years, and its new date promising even more flexibility and appeal, the stage is set for a new era of racing and entertainment in the Principality.
Amber Lounge will continue to offer its signature blend of luxury, performance, and exclusivity during Monaco race week, with 2026 marking the beginning of a new chapter in the world’s most glamorous Grand Prix weekend.
